Got my ear piereced help ?

i got my ear pierced about 12 hours ago and i was wondering if i tak it out to clean it will the hole close up in about a minute or so. also i was wondering if i could clean it with hand sanitizer or if not then what would be good to use. also how can i protect from infections and tell the signs of them. any help would be appreciated.
