Is cisco certification a good idea if i did not graduate with a computer science degree?

I Graduated about a year ago with a BA in psychology. I'm not really interested in going to graduate school but i have been having trouble finding work. I recently found out about the Cisco certification program and want to know if it's possible or even likely that ill be able to enter the IT job field with an Cisco certification and no degree in computer science.
